Well, they were the last ones who would be taught two different systems. The rest of us have had to try to figure out the mess as we go. 14 pounds in a stone, 16 ounces in a pound? Or the other way round? God knows how many feet in a mile. And what the hell is a fluid ounce? Are there a whole number of pints in a gallon?

I only hope that with Brussels out of the picture we can press on without all the whiney anti-European stuff.
